Dusty Desert Trails - Episode List

I started a History Video Series with my Dad (Edmund Czajka) in 2018, and we called it Dusty Desert Trails. I initially had no idea how he came up with this name. This show we started going through some of my old stomping grounds where I first learned videography, to tell some of the lesser known history near Death Valley. We started off on a trip, just me and him up to the Barker Ranch. This trip was a little different though, because he was telling me stories I have heard bits and pieces of over the years, but I got to explore with him and document it with him. Most of his knowledge was from many books and articles he has read about the area over the years.

	Episode 1 - Up Goler Wash On this adventure, we tour up Goler Wash towards the Barker Ranch where Charlie Manson was captured on October 12, 1969. We also visit the Newman Cabin where Charlie Manson marked the walls.
	Episode 2 - Exploring Barker Ranch On this adventure, we tour the Barker Ranch where Charlie Manson was captured on October 12, 1969. We also explore the area around the ranch where the family had several bunkers to observe the area. We also show what the area looked like before it burned down in 2009.
	Episode 3 - Ballarat Ghost Town On this adventure, we tour the ghost town of Ballarat, CA in the Panamint Valley. This is where Seldom Seen Slim lived. Many travel by this location on their way to Death Valley, not knowing the history of the area.
	Episode 4 - Surprise Canyon On this adventure, we explore parts of Surprise Canyon, and show some historical video of us going up the waterfalls with two-wheel drive motorcycles to Panamint City before the canyon was closed. We also show the stagecoach stop, as well as a tool road that many don't notice on their way up into the canyon. We also look at Chris Wick's camp,
	Episode 5 - Searles Station / Garden Station This has been a long time coming, as I wanted to do this video with my father before he got sick and passed away, but he didn't know much about the area. I was able to comb thru many resources and piece together why it was here, and when it was built as well as how it influenced the Navy to put a base out in the middle of the desert. Much of what this station did is gone, and the history of it is not well known, yet many of us pass by this important location on a regular basis. This is to acknowledge the importance of this location of this area, and why it got started in the first place.

First look at iOS 8

I downloaded iOS8 Beta 4 and started to play with it to see what to expect, and here are some screenshots and details of what's new:

Apparently, Apple is trying to standardize "In Case of Emergancy" data for users. The Medical ID App also appears to have the ability to maintain medically related data, like historical blood pressure, weight, and many other data points that you manually enter.

The iMessage screen looks a bit different as well. Emojicons have been enabled by default, and the icon to get to them has changed. They have also added suggested words above the keyboard. If you tap on details, you can send your current location to someone, without going to Find My Friends. They have also added Voice to iMessages.

There appears to be so e work being done to the Camera App as well. A self timer has been added and a new mode for Time Lapse Photography.

Editing Photos will be easier also, they have added a rotation dial and more function for color correction.

Something else I found interesting, Apple appears to have fixed the Facebook based video as viewed through Safari. Yes, this did play through Safari.

Apple has also added a Tips App to help everyone realize the new features available on the new iOS 8
